True that managing to stop snoring is a wonderful gift that one can give themselves and their families. I was very depressed due to my snoring problem as it was causing problems to my family member s who usually were disturbed with my sound sleep. It was like in our family wither I slept soundly or the others did. But after following my doctors advise to lose weight and do some breathing exercises, I have totally stopped snoring. A great achievement for me, my family is totally thrilled about it all.

After reading your post, I was wondering what exactly is a CPAP machine as I had never heard of it before. For me and for people who are not aware about it, a CPAP device consists of an air blower which you place next to your bed, and a mask which fits over over your nose during sleep. The pressure from the air blower forces air through your nasal passages. The air pressure is adjusted so that it is just enough to prevent the throat from collapsing during sleep. A major benefit is that the CPAP system will correct not only your apnea but your snoring as well.

There is everything I needed to know about it and I think this might be the best invention for people suffering from breathing problems. My elder brother has some serious snoring problem. I might just buy it for him and I hope to sleep peacefully after that.

Still you can try the “tennis ball trick”. In this trick one has to sleep with a tennis ball or any other ball more or less of the same sizing attached to the back of your pajama top. You can sew a pocket at the back of your pajama top and then put the tennis ball in it. Sleeping on your back will be not that at ease and you will react by turning on your side. Soon you will build up the habit of side-sleeping and no more need for the tennis ball.

I’ve been using my CPAP machine for a few months now and can definitely feel the difference in how I feel when I use it and when I don’t. There is no question that I feel so much better when I use it and so I really try to make sure I use it every night. Well, I am not always at home because I have to travel sometimes and so I’ve started to become used to carrying it along. Up until last week I had only had the opportunity to take it with me in the car when I traveled for business in the local area, and I have that down to a science. Frankly, other than having an extra bag to carry it just isn’t that big of a deal.

There is one more tip which might help stop snoring. When you ingest food right before going to bed, it will be in your stomach a while and can be putting pressure on your diaphragm, which then results in snoring. When you adjust your last meal of the day to an earlier hour, giving your stomach some time to deal with it, you won’t have that “pressure” problem and get a better night’s sleep, snoring free.

My father made me believe that there were two categories of sleepers the snorers and the non-snorers. I am not sure which category I came under but one thing I definitely knew was that snoring was a thing that I would inherit and right enough I have a bad snoring problem. Performing facial exercises at home can help you stop snoring. Try pushing your tongue out as far as you can, hold for then relax. Next put your out tongue and try to touch your chin hold then relax and the third one of the set push your tongue out and try to touch your nose. Repeat the set of three 10 times. Do an exaggerated smile hold for 10 seconds, then relax. Do this as many times as you can but do these exercises on your own or tell your family what you are up to so they don’t call for psychiatric help.

Thanks for the tip Edward. My husband could really use this exercise first before opting for mouth piece or the CPAP machine and see whether this helps him control his snoring problems. I have been fed up hearing the irritating noise every night and I just hope he gets rid of it soon because some where or the other, even his sleep gets disturbed a lot. I don’t want that his problems increase to a greater level and that is why I will try all the suggestions you have mentioned.

I heard somewhere that snoring problem will get worse as you get older and will cause more problem. This is the time for you to start some yoga exercises. It is prove that yoga can cure snoring problem, also stop drinking alcohol or any drugs related stuff. My dad also snores but only when he is sleeping in particular position, so you can try changing your sleeping position.
