Improve Your Relationships With Your Partner — Stop Snoring
Nov 20, 2011
If your partner is frustrating by your sleeping habits, chances are good that there’s one culprit above all others that’s really got them frustrated: snoring. Trying to stop snoring is a great idea because it can definitely improve your relationship with your partner.
Yet it can be easier said than done — a lot of people that attempt to stop snoring report a lot of frustration on their own. They’ve tried for months or even years to stop snoring, only to find that they’re still sawing logs — and their partner is still grinding their teeth.
There has to be a better way, doesn’t there? After all, you don’t want to let a great relationship slip out of your fingers over a snoring problem.
Here’s what you need to do first. Before you do anything else, you need to reach out to your partner. Admitting that you know that you have a snoring problem will make your partner realize that you really are serious about fixing the problem rather than just letting it go month after month. A lot of partner resentment stems from the fact that they might be doing everything to tune out your snoring, and you’re not trying to fix the problem at all. By letting them know that you are willing to make changes, they’re going to be a lot more likely to stand with you through it all and get it handled a lot faster.
Once you get that out of the way, you might want to try all of the lifestyle changes first. This means that you will want to work on losing weight, since excess weight really does put pressure on your airways at night, making it harder to breathe. From here, you will need to ensure that you are sleeping at the right time. If your sleep cycle is all over the place, it tends to promote bad habits like snoring — you’re just too tired from constantly moving from one sleep pattern to another.
Your partner can support and encourage you to make changes — even if that means getting the doctor’s help. If your relationship is really important to you, then your mission really will be to stop snoring any way you can!
